This post is all about where I went for a weekend getaway… I am talking about the place which is famous for its culture & heritage, the place which attracts many visitors, tourists across the world. Yes its Jaipur.. Rajasthan is the most favorite place for all tourist as you get to see so many colors, folk songs, folk dance, the people, and of course the stories that has been heard from last so many years about kings and their kingdom and the forts.
So my journey starts with exploring the Amer Fort, located in outskirts of Jaipur. One of the main attractions for all the tourist. Also known as Amer Palace. This fort was built by Meenas but later it was ruled by Raja Mansingh and so this was occupied by all rajput’s families. Amer Fort also connects Jaigarh Fort through a long passage which was used in the times of war. These forts are built on Aravalli Hills which runs through Jaipur outskirts.
The next big attraction is Hawa Mahal located in the city. In the middle of the chaos this grand looking palace takes all of the attention. This is made of red sandstones and has a beautiful unique structure. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh for all the royal ladies to see the activities on street since they were not allowed to go out of the premises.
Next stop was Jaigarh Fort, built on the peaks of Aravalli Hills by Jaisingh and the same road takes you to the Nahargarh Fort as well. Jaigarh Fort known for it centre of weapons production for Rajputs. This fort holds the famous Jaivana Canon which is the worlds largest canon on the wheels.
After visiting the forts we explored Bapu Bazaar which is famous for the way it is made & handicrafts. One can get clothes with their famous embroidery mirror work or Bandhez duppattas and sarees, footwear like juttis & kohlapuri at a very reasonable price, furniture and paintings , puppets etc. which reflects the rich culture of Rajasthan.
Day was coming to an end and it was so hot outside that I was totally exhausted..so I decided to stay at my resort which was in outskirts of Jaipur and beautifully made. Tree of Life Resort & Spa has some lavish royal looking villas. The entire look of this resort was very royal reflecting the culture and is surrounded by hills and trees which adds the beauty and makes it a perfect place to spend weekend away from chaos of city. This resort has a pool to where you can spend your evening while you enjoy a good view too. The rooms were gorgeously decorated with the antiques and had a personal pool too. After a long day it was a very relaxing experience.
Talking about my stay here at Tree of Life Resorts & Spa was excellent. The staff was well behaved and the service was really quick. Food was good and I completely enjoyed having meals of my choice.
